My name is Jurjen Galema, I am an artist based in the beautiful city of Groningen, the Netherlands. I create soft sculptures: pieces made from textiles, often filled with fiberfill, sometimes resting on a skeleton of PVC pipes. I build worlds inhabited by eccentric figures with intriguing stories and interactive elements. Gender, identity, kitsch, popular culture and obsessions are themes I explore and interpret in my own way.
